A brand-new original show awaits us at Sight and Sound Theatre in 2026. We will step into the story of Joshua as it comes to life on stage. We will journey alongside the people of Israel as they navigate their new-found freedom in an unforgiving wilderness to finally reach the Promised Land. From the banks of the Jordan River to the towering walls of Jericho, we will witness Joshua’s unwavering faith in God’s promises and his commitment to obeying God’s commands. It’s a story of old that still applies today. Join us as we step back in time and watch Joshua fight the battle of Jericho, and watch the walls come tumbling down.
These two trips have identical itineraries, but we will be using two different hotels. For the trip in April, we will be at the Hershey Farms Resort in Lancaster PA. For the trip in May, we will be at the Eden Resort in Lancaster PA.
Tuesday, April 21st and Monday, May 4th – Today we will travel to Pennsylvania, but we can’t just travel all day. We will stop along the way to explore the newest museum in Washington, DC, The People’s House. It is a wonderful tour that tells the story of the Executive Mansion, its inhabitants and the people who have dedicated their careers to its functions. The exhibits and galleries truly bring the White House and its history to life. You will be able to interact with a large-scale White House model, enjoy a recreation of the Rose Garden, explore a full-scale replica of the Oval Office and so much more. It is a most interesting and unique walk through history! After this great experience, we will continue on our way to Lancaster for the night. Dinner will be at the ever-popular, Shady Maple Restaurant. (L, D)
Wednesday, April 22nd and Tuesday, May 5th – This morning we will stop at our popular roadside stand for the best warm pretzel you’ll ever eat, according to Donna. Then it’s off to the Amish House and Farm. This property has been owned and farmed by Quakers, Mennonites and Amish since 1805. In the 1950’s it was purchased and opened to the public to ensure that people learned accurate information about the Amish lifestyle. And since Amish school houses are not open to the public, an authentic one was built on this site and has been decorated by Amish teachers so that you get a true experience. So, a tour of the house and the school as well as time to explore the farm and the covered bridge or perhaps try your hand riding an Amish scooter will be quite a unique experience.
Next, we will visit Artisan Village in Lancaster, which showcases local vendors displaying an array of handcrafted goods plus enjoy lunch on your own at their café. Then, it’s the moment we have been waiting for: Sight and Sound’s thrilling performance of Joshua! The story, the music, the costumes, the props, the animals . . . and the wall that came tumbling down! What an uplifting experience this will be and a great way to end a wonderful day. (B, D)
Thursday, April 23rd and Wednesday, May 6th – Today we will turn our motorcoach south, but once again, we won’t just travel. We will stop in Columbia, Pennsylvania where we will take a tour the Turkey Hill Ice Cream factory, enjoy plenty of unlimited samples of ice cream, and learn about Turkey Hill’s history and their products. You’ll even visit the Taste Lab where you can make your own unique flavor of ice cream. After a tasty mid-morning treat, we’ll head home: full, happy and inspired. Who could ask for anything more! A fresh loaf of Michael’s raisin bread to take home? Check! (B)
