Ladies Day Adventure

It’s two glorious days of fun, laughter and the most wonderfully unique tours. Join us as we travel to Washington, DC for a spectacular adventure!

Friday, May 7thLadies Day AdventureThis morning, we will make our way to our country’s capital, Washington, DC, where we will begin our day enjoying a Tea Around Town experience. From the exquisite teas and delicious tea sandwiches and scones to the inside of a bus that has pink tables, chairs and decorations all around to the soft music playing in the background, you’ll surely enjoy this “tearoom on wheels” adventure. Along the way we will pass by iconic landmarks such as the White House, the U.S. Capitol, the Lincoln Memorial, and the Washington Monument as we hear fascinating stories and historical facts about each landmark. What an amazing and totally unique treat this will be. Next, we will visit Hillwood Estates, Ladies Day Advenurethe former residence of businesswoman, socialite, philanthropist and collector Marjorie Merriweather Post. From a guided tour of the mansion that is known for its large decorative arts collection to free time to meander through the rose garden, lunar lawn, putting tee and friendship walk, it is truly a lovely estate to explore. After a unique day of exploring DC, we will enjoy a delicious dinner before checking into our hotel for the night. (L, D)

Saturday, May 8th – After a leisurely breakfast we will set out on another special adventure as we tour The People’s House, a new venue that opened in 2024. We will start our visit with a private presentation that focuses on the first ladies of the White House. Ladies Day AdventureAfterwards you’ll have time to meander through the Rose Garden, Oval Office and more. After a delightful time at “the house” we will travel to Alexandria, Virginia for lunch at the historical Gadsby Tavern and enjoy a delightful lunch in the same tavern that George Washington, Dolly Madison, Thomas Jefferson and other notable people from history met to talk, dine and dance. Afterwards, we’ll spend some time strolling along Old Town’s King Street which has more than 100 independent boutiques, including several consignment shops. There are no Big Box stores, no chain stores . . . it is a “shop small” destination. Whether it’s the fun of browsing the unique boutiques, buying something new or just sitting in a quaint coffee shop and talking with your friends, it’s going to be exciting. Mid-afternoon we will depart for home, having experienced a wonderful Ladies Day adventure. (B, L)
